United by their ancestry, indigenous women from the Amazon raised their voices in defence of their rights and in their struggle for respect and appreciation of their cultures in the face of the growing threats.
The meeting “Indigenous Women of the Amazon” is part of the project “Patak Maymu: Autonomy and participation of indigenous women from the Amazon and Cerrado in defence of their rights”. The meeting, held between 11 and 13 September in Macapá, Amapá, was run by CESE, with support and funding from the European Union.
