Popular communications are focus of initiative to empower collectives from Recife’s city peripheries

“In the hustle and bustle of constant competition, isn’t it time to co-create spaces for exchange and collective empowerment?” It was with provocations such as these that the Tumulto Network, a collective formed by young Black women from the city peripheries of Recife (PE) promoted activities under the project ‘Tumultuando em Rede – Communications Immersion and Institutional Strengthening for Youth Collectives.’

Supported by CESE and held at the end of April this year, the initiative provided technical and political communications training for collectives from the peripheries of Pernambuco’s capital city and its metropolitan region. As well as a learning space, the gathering also aimed to foster collaboration between the collectives and strengthen their institutional organization.”
