Training at CESE connects and empowers IEAB leaders

Between 18 and 21 April, leaders of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil (Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil: IEAB) visited the offices of the Ecumenical Coordination of Service (Coordenadoria Ecumênica de Serviço: CESE), in Salvador (Bahia), to participate in circle conversations about Management, Communications and Projects.

Integration, sharing, knowledge and welcoming were some of the aspects touched on during four days of Management, Communications and Project Training for IEAB leaders.  The initiative was organized by the Centre for Anglican Studies (Centro de Estudos Anglicanos: CEA Area 3), an institution linked to the church, which works in partnership with the host organization for theological coordination and training. The aim of the training, which took place through four intense circle conversations, was to raise awareness and mobilize the Area 3 religious community, which covers the Dioceses of Recife, the Amazon, Brasilia and the Missionary District (Rondônia, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul), improving coordination in their management and sustainability work.

The meeting was attended by Anglican Church clergy, Diocese administrators, Communications Coordinators and Education Coordinators, including Bishop João Câncio Peixoto Filho, a member of CESE’s Board, and Bianca Daébs, Ecumenical and Inter-religious Dialogue Advisor, who is a member of CESE’s executive team.  Discussions focused on how to draft a management programme for the short, medium and long term, cash flow and transparency in accounting to improve knowledge in providence area 3; discussions about the importance of collectively constructing a communications policy to guide work practice; conversations about tax exemption issues and certification for religious communities; and how to draft projects and provide accounts as a fundraising strategy for the institution.
