The Comuá Network is an arena that links thematic funds, community foundations, and independent grant-making organizations that mobilize resources from diverse sources to support groups, collectives, movements, and civil society organizations working in the fields of socio-environmental justice, human rights, and community development. The Network aims to strengthen the collaborative capacity of its members to enhance their role in social transformational processes and advocacy, while raising the profile of their initiatives in both philanthropic circles and the public sphere.
Established in 2012 as the Independent Funds Network for Social Justice (renamed in 2017 as the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice), the Network includes the Baobá Fund, ELAS+, Giving for Change, the Brasil Fund, the Casa Socio-environmental Fund, the Grande Florianópolis Community Institute (ICOM), the Brazil Foundation, the Rio Institute, and the Baixada Institute. CESE joined the Independent Funds Network for Social Justice during this period.”
