Strengthening initiatives for the defence of rights: Local Fundraising Course brings together grassroots groups

“Combatting inequalities, saving lives, mobilizing territories, ‘sustaining the sky,’ and promoting the autonomy of organizations were some of the reflections highlighted by 22 individuals from 11 organizations from several Brazilian states, who gathered between May 20 and 24 at the ‘Local Fundraising Course’ at CESE.

The course connected initiatives from various struggles, such as the right to decent housing, dialogue between rural and urban areas, combating environmental racism, youth issues, and discussions about gender and race, facilitating links  between a range of stakeholders, as noted by participant Deysiane Ferreira from Teia dos Povos: ‘Resource mobilization is a critical issue within our movements. With this course, our intention was to connect with other experiences and contexts as a network. We were able to witness this potential throughout these days.'”
